Goddamned hetties.

A couple weeks ago I posted about going to San Diego for Pride.
We booked this trip completely ignoring the fact that good friend of Trish is getting married in Hood River, Ore. that same weekend. So the San Diego trip has been rescheduled to September, and we made unreasonably expensive hotel reservations for a July wedding in Hood River. Which, coincidentally, was the site of our accidental first date. It is also home to the Tofurky factory and Full Sail Brewing.
So, that's cute.
Which brings me to my next point: I fucking hate weddings.
This statement is completely false. But, man. Weddings are just so much goddamned work. They're so much work on the part of the folks getting married. They're so much work on the part of the folks attending. It's just so much effort when, really, the end goal is to hang out with people you like and feel good.
But. Hopefully there will be an open bar and the vegan meal I got strongarmed in to picking (which experience has taught me will most likely be pasta primavera) will be robust enough to stand up to the booze and feelings I plan on throwing at it. And all that jazz about the couple living a disgustingly happy life with lots of babies blahblahblahblah heteronormativity.
:P

Date: 2013-05-20 10:02 am (UTC)I'm pretty bad at plans much past "Meet up for a drink." I think it's supposed to be kind of rainy and blah on Tuesday (shock), so probably an inside place would be best.
Are you staying in the Hawthorne area again?
