Connundrum!

Knitters!

I have a bunch of Malabrigo Rios in Sunset (heavy worsted weight squishy business). I have started 3 or 4 different projects with it, none of which have really been satisfactory. Well, I started a cardigan that I really liked but didn't have enough yarn to complete and the skeins, despite being the same dye lot, were not at all the same color so I gave up 3/4 of the way through, frogged it, and decided to knit a shawl that was terrible. BUT ANYWAY.

I've narrowed down a couple of patterns that I really like and that I think the yarn would do well in, but I keep waffling between them.

Pattern 1 - Black Death






Pros: Shawl, pointy.
Cons: Shawl.

Pattern 2: Herringbone Cowl





Pros: Like a blanket for your neck.
Cons: Will it strangle me like a python? Will I be able to handle knitting 8,926 stitches in the round? Will I die of boredom? NO ONE KNOWS.

I'm leaning toward the shawl? But then, maybe the cowl will be easier to live with? Or maybe I should just give up on knitting anything again ever because I clearly lack the discipline to actually finish projects. I'm looking at you, year-and-a-half-long glove project.

Me, personally? Two-color cardigan. Buy more of the same yarn in a different color and rock that direction since you loved the cardigan so much.

But knowing you, the cowl will actually get worn. You don't strike me a shawl person...and I've struggled to wear my shawls. They're hard. Sad face.

You're so right about the shawl thing. I try really hard, but I can't seem to pull them off the way I want to.

I'm grumbling to realize that shawls are either going to be ultra-femme or ultra-utilitarian items in my wardrobe. Grump grump.

LMFAO. XD So many queued shawls that will never, never be and even if they were they would go die in a pile.
