The rat saga came to a head at 4 am today, when the rodent in question managed to trip one of the property-management-supplied plastic snap traps with its front leg. The rat wore itself out trying to get back into its hole with a big ol' trap stuck to its leg, so we scooped it into a box and took it in to work to have it euthanized.
Ugh.
Here's to hoping he was the only one, and that we don't have an entire colony's worth of wee-hours-of-the-morning wild rat euthanasias to orchestrate.
